Effect of Hibiscus sabdariffa and Ceratonia silique aqueous Extracts on the Reproductive Hormones of Diabetic Male Rats | ||

| Abstract | ||
| The effects of aqueous extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique on feed intake, feed efficiency ratio, body weight gains, lipid profile, blood glucose, serum fertility hormones in diabetic rats were investigated. Thirty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 6 equal groups. Group (1) was fed on basal diet (negative control), while the other rats were fed on basal diet then rendered diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of alloxan (120 mg/kg/day) for 3 days. Thereafter, group (2) was kept diabetic (positive control) and the other 4 groups were orally given 2 ml from condensed and diluted Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique aqueous extracts which provided each rat with active component resulted from 100 mg and 200 mg/kg respectively. Blood samples were collected for separating the serum which used for biochemical analyses. Tests and pancreas specimens were taken for estimating histopathology. The high active component found in concentrated Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx extract. The results showed that oral administration of Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique aqueous extracts to diabetic rats non-significant in feed intake, feed efficiency ratio , body weight gains and decreased serum levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low density lipoproteins (LDL-c), very low density lipoproteins (VLDL-c), prolactin and increased in high density lipoproteins (HDL-c). Blood glucose decreased by administration of Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique aqueous extracts. It also increased in fertility hormones serum Testosterone, Folicle Stimulating Hormone, Luteinizing Hormone in diabetic rats. Through these results and histopathology examinations illustrate the positive impact of both Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique aqueous extracts in tests and pancreas. These results point to the potential possibility of use Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx and Ceratonia silique aqueous extracts for the treatment of infertility diabetic patients. تأثير المستخلص المائى للکرکدية والخروب على الهرمونات التناسلية لذکور الجرذان المصابة بمرض السکرى تم دراسة تأثير المستخلص المائي لکلاً من الکرکديه والخروب على المأخوذ الغذائي ، ومعدل کفاءة الغذاء ، وزيادة وزن الجسم ، ودهون الدم ، وجلوکوز الدم ، وهرمونات الخصوبة في سيرم الجرذان المصابة بداء السکري. تم تقسيم ثلاثين من الجرذان البالغة من نوع (Sprague Dawley) إلى 6 مجموعات متساوية بشکل عشوائي. المجموعة (1) تم تغذيتها على نظام غذائي أساسي (مجموعة ضابطة سالبة) ، بينما تم تغذية الجرذان الأخرى على نظام غذائي أساسي ثم إصابتها بالسکر عن طريق الحقن بمادة الوکسان (120 ملجم / کجم / يوم) لمدة 3 أيام. وبعد ذلک ، تم الاحتفاظ بمجموعة (2) من مرضى السکري (کمجموعة ضابطة موجبه) وأعطيت المجموعات الأربع الأخرى عن طريق الفم 2 مل من المستخلص المائي لکلاﹰ من الکرکديه والخروب المکثف والمخفف والمحتويه على مواد فعاله ناتجه عن 100 ملجم و 200 ملجم لکل کيلو جرام على التوالي . وقد تم جمع عينات الدم لفصل السيرم المستخدم في التحاليل البيوکيميائية. واخذت عينات من البنکرياس والخصية للفحص الهستوباثولوجي . وقد وجدت اعلى نسبة من المواد الفعاله موجوده في المستخلص المائي المرکز للکرکديه. أوضحت النتائج أن الإعطاء الفموي للمستخلصات المائية من الکرکديه والخروب للجرذان المصابة بمرض السکري بعدم وجود فروق معنويه فى المأخوذ الغذائي ومعدل کفاءة الغذاء زيادة وزن الجسم وانخفاض مستويات السيرم من الکوليسترول الکلي (TC) والدهون الثلاثية (TG) ، البروتينات الدهنية منخفضة الکثافة (LDL-c) ، البروتينات الدهنية منخفضة الکثافة جدًا (VLDL-c) ، والبرولاکتين وزيادة في البروتينات الدهنية عالية الکثافة (HDL-c). وحدوث انخفاض في جلوکوز الدم عن طريق تناول المستخلصات المائية من الکرکديه والخروب. کما زادت هرمونات الخصوبة في السيرم من Testosterone, Folicle Stimulating Hormone, Luteinizing Hormone في الجرذان المصابة بمرض السکري. هذه النتائج أوضحت التأثير الإيجابي للمستخلصات المائية من الکرکديه والخروب في الفحص الهستوباثولوجي للبنکرياس والخصية . وتشير هذه النتائج إلى إمکانية استخدام نبات الکرکديه والخروب لتحسين هرمونات الخصوبة للمرضى المصابين بداء السکري. الکلمات المفتاحية: الکرکديه , الخروب , هرمونات الخصوبة , مرض السکري , دهون الدم , مضادات الأکسدة , الجرذان. | ||
