| Abstract | ||
| ملخص: تهدف الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على الدور الذي لعبه الکويستور في الإدارة البيزنطية، فعلى الرغم من أنه قد لعب الکثير من الأدوار إلا أن بدايات الاستعانة به في خدمة الإمبراطورية أمر يکتنفه الغموض؛ لحدوث کثير من التغيرات في اختصاصاته؛ لذا من الخطأ الشائع تصنيف الکويستور في البداية على أنه يقوم بعمل "المستشار القانوني" للإمبراطور وکأنه مهمته الأساسية، ولکن الحقيقة أن الکويستور لم يتعامل فقط مع التشريعات الإمبراطورية، بل کان ومنذ البداية شخصًا مسئولًا تشرف بـنيل ثقة الإمبراطور، ذو مهارات بلاغية مُنمقة يسخرها لخدمة الإمبراطور کمتحدثٍ رسميٍ باسمه، وبإعتباره "المقرب" للإمبراطور لم يقدم المشورة القانونية فحسب، بل کان لديه أيضًا القدرة على "تقييد" الإمبراطور ضد الأعمال التي تهدد منصبه مع رعاياه ومسؤوليه. - وکما سنرى لاحقًا- أن هذا المنصب قد تطور وتغيرت مهامه واختصاصاته من القرن الرابع حتى القرن السادس الميلادي. Abstract: The study aims to highlight the role played by the Quaestor in Byzantine government administration, the beginnings of the imperial quaestorship are shrouded in mystery, it is a mistaken emphasis to label the quaestor as the emperor's 'legal adviser', as if that was, but really The quaestor did not deal only with leges, initially he seems to have been simply an official honoured with the confidence of the emperor, who used the rhetorical skills with which Roman administrators were almost by definition endowed in the emperor's service, often as his spokesman, the quaestor's main function, In fact, He was the emperor's 'confidant'. He not only gave legal advice but also had the power to 'restrain' the emperor against acts that threatened his position with his subjects and officials.
