| Abstract | ||
| The phenomenon of Contronyms, like any other linguistic phenomena, has drawn the attention of some ancient and modern Arab scholars. Dr. Muhammad Hasan Jabal, May Allah have mercy on him, was one of the modernists who completely rejected this phenomenon in Arabic language. He clearly and frankly recorded this attitude in his great linguistic accomplishments in value and size, especially in "al- Mu'jam al-Ishtiqaqi al-Muassal li-Alfaz al-Quran al-Karim", which is the essence and jewels of his thoughts and linguistic opinions; it has been distinguished by its practical side, in which he has denied the contronym phenomenon in some terms, which were considered as contronyms, through four different methods, which this study seeks to focus on and deal with in the light of its comparison to the views of other ancient and modern linguists in this regard. | ||
