| Abstract | ||
| The study aimed to estimate the amount and value of virtual water that can be provided from domestic use in the city of Abu Sweir, Ismailia Governorate, by describing the current situation of Egyptian water resources and the most important challenges they are exposed to, with an analysis to what extent virtual water can be a useful tool to raise awareness of domestic water consumption. In an attempt to estimate the economic costs that can be saved when implementing the concept of virtual water. The study sample consisted of 384 Egyptian families who were trained to reduce water use in the kitchen; the toilet; Water Cycle; And put a plastic bottle filled with half a liter of water in the toilet water tank. Replacing their mechanical water meters with prepaid ones and installing water-saving pieces instead of regular taps, as well as obtaining the economic and social variables for these families through a special questionnaire for this study. The data was formed from previous measurements and information through a simple statistical approach. The results of the study showed that the Egyptian family in the city of Abu Sweir, Ismailia Governorate, can save huge amounts of domestic water after applying the concept of virtual water | ||
