| Abstract | ||
| The hotel industry is subdivision of the hospitality industry that specializes in providing customers with lodging services. As well, there are a variety of hotel types that typically can be categorized. The year 2020 is recorded in history of hotels industry because of extra ordinary turn of events due to the spread of corona virus disease commonly known as (COVID - 19) across the world. The impact of (COVID -19) on the hotel industry is vary from hotel chain groups to other ones upon to their world market share. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of (COVID -19) on stock prices, choosing the study methodology of the international hotel chains groups that have been merged in the recent years to find out whether these mergers had an impact that may differ from each other in the hotel stock prices during the pandemic. The most finfing of the study is that there was a difference in the prices of the shares to hotels that had mergers and engagements, the reason for that was due to the increase of their merged branches not only in Egypt but glodally. The study recommended the necessity of urging and directing Egyptian investors to invest in this types of hotels scince,they have less impact of the hotel stock prices decline than others, especially in global economic crises. | ||
