| This research aims to identify the challenges represented in the difficulties facing the rehabilitation of Egyptian mines and quarries in order to be suitable for tourism investment, as there are many mines and quarries in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the number of mines has reached 400, where there are 25% of quarries and mines in Egypt, which were recorded by a scientist The English monuments, James Harrell, are largely intact, while 75% are in a state of deterioration due to human or natural causes. The field study relied on the research on the collection and analysis of basic data related to the subject of the study through the design and distribution of survey forms, which target a random sample of representatives from the local community in the Hankorab mine, the West Aswan archaeological quarry, the Fawakher mine and the Ras Shajra quarry to know their views on the difficulties facing the tourism rehabilitation of mines and quarries. . - Survey forms were distributed to a random sample of residents and workers at the West Aswan Archaeological Quarry and the Al-Fawakhir Gold Mine in the Red Sea region in the period from February 2018 to March 2018 August. As for the Hankorab mine and the Ras Shajara quarry, it was in the time period of December2019 to January 2020. Personal interviews were also conducted in the period from December 2015 to December 2018 with 8 officials: Director of the Department of Quarries in Cairo, Head of the Egyptian Antiquities Sector at the Ministry of Antiquities, Director of the General Department of Antiquities in Aswan Governorate, Director of the Department of Mines and Archaeological Quarries in Cairo, President of the General Authority for Wealth Mineral, director of legal affairs at the General Authority for Mineral Resources, head of the Spanish mission to excavate antiquities in West Aswan quarries, and director of archaeological quarries at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. In addition to conducting personal interviews from January 2015 to December 2018 with 7 investors in the field of mines and quarries: two in the quarries of Aswan Governorate, two in the quarries of Cairo Governorate, and three in the mines of the Red Sea Governorate. | ||
