| Abstract Background: The aim of study is to evaluate vital signs after administration of lidocaine 2% for pulpotomy anesthetic efficacy pulp therapy in primary molars in young children below four years. Methods: 100 young children under age of four years seeking pulpotomy of primary molars which performed after buccal infiltration injection. lidocaine hydrochloride 2% with epinephrine 1:100 000. The intervention was articaine hydrochloride 4% with epinephrine 1:100 000 was deposited. Children's blood pressure and heart rate was assessed before and after treatment. Results: No statistically significant difference was found before LA injection and after finishing clinical procedures. Regarding the heart rate (HR), no statistically significant difference was detected pre- and postoperatively. Conclusion: lidocaine hydrochloride 2% with epinephrine 1:100 000 for treatment of children between the age of 3 and below 4 years old did not significantly increase the vital signs before and after injection Keywords: buccal infiltration, lidocaine, local anesthesia, blood pressure | ||
