| Abstract | ||
| Oranges and grapes are among the important export fruit crops in the Egyptian agricultural export basket. The paper aims, in general, to evaluation of the export advantages of oranges and grapes using competitiveness indicators. Forth-coming results out this research is that: by examining the geographical distribution of Egyptian orange exports for the period (1990-2020) it was found that the Federal Republic of Russia, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates are among the most important importing markets for Egyptian oranges. By reviewing the indicators of the competitiveness of Egyptian oranges, it was found that Egypt enjoyed a price competitive advantage in front of the most important competitive countries that exported oranges. By estimating the market share index of Egypt and its competitors, it was found that Egypt ranks second in the Russian and Emirati market, ranks first in the Saudi market, and ranks fourth in the Dutch market at the level of competing countries. By studying the geographical distribution of Egyptian exports of grapes for the period 1990-2020, it was found that the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, the Russian Federation, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are among the most important importing markets for Egyptian grapes. By reviewing the indicators of the competitiveness of Egyptian grapes, it was revealed that Egypt enjoyed a competitive price advantage in front of the most important competitive countries exporting grapes. Estimating the market share index of Egypt and its competitors revealed that Egypt ranks sixth in comparison with the level of competing countries. | ||
