| Abstract | ||
| Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) are one of important groups of prokaryotes occur in soil habitats, due to their effects on growth and development of plants. The use of cyanobacteria as Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) can fulfill these criteria by carry out photosynthesis and can fix nitrogen, as well as add the mass growth and increase nitrogen to soil. In this study, the cyanobacteria isolates were isolated from some soils samples at different locations of various Governorates (Kafr El- Sheikh, El-Gharbia, El-Dakahlia, Damietta and El-Behiera) and isolates were successfully obtained as bacterial free cyanobacteria. A total of 50 cyanobacterial isolates were identified by using morphological characterizations as the following parameters: thallus color, thallus morphology and dimension, size of heterocyst, vegetative and reproductive cells. The cyanobacterial isolates were cultured at high frequency as Nostoc sp., Anabaena sp., Calothrix sp. and Oscillatoria sp. isolates representing in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate (34%). While, low frequency as Nostoc sp. and Anabaena sp. isolates representing in Damietta Governorate (14%). Also, less frequency isolates belonging to different genera as Calothrix sp., Oscillatoria sp., Phormidium sp. and Pseudanabaena sp. The isolates that recorded highest amount of fixed nitrogen and mass production were identified by using molecular 16S rRNA. These superior cyanobacterial isolates belonging to Nostoc lichenoides, Nostoc indistinguendun and Nostoc favosum. | ||
