| Abstract | ||
| This research deals with the topic of food and drinks in Egyptian Monasteries in The Byzantine Era as it is of great importance especially since it has not been researched before either from a historic or tourist aspect. In fact, food tourism plays an effective role in enriching tourists’ experiences in that it gives them chances to know how unique and authentic each culture is. It also lets them unite with the history and culture of the country they visit . This type of tourism is based on exploring the food and drinks of a particular country or culture and learning the methods of preparing them. This study followed an approach that is based on two sides; the first one is historic, and the second one is a tourist. This study aimed to realize what food tourism is and connect it with the historical side of the food and drinks of the Monks. This study tries to know what food sources, and kinds of food and drinks the Monks had. In addition, it aimed to know the methods of preparation and the places where food was made inside the Monasteries. The study also explained how eating could be used in Behaviour and Health treatment and the relation between food and the punishment of Monks. | ||
