| Abstract | ||
| Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a life-threatening multisystem inflammatory condition affecting any organ system Pulmonary arterial hypertension is severe, potentially life-threatening complication of SLE with range of 1.8% -14% Aim of the study: to predict of pulmonary arterial hypertension in SLE patients at early stage to prevent further complications Methods: As a cross-sectional study, 47 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus diagnosed according to EULAR/ACR 2019 criteria were enrolled in Minia university Hospital, cardiology department and rheumatology Clinic. Patients were subjected to full clinical evaluation, laboratory investigations and Echocardiography for detection of pulmonary hypertension Results: The mean duration of SLE was13.02±6 years. There was a significant relation between severity of SLE disease and pulmonary artery systolic pressure (P < 0.0001). there was no significant difference between 2 groups regarding duration of the disease while pulmonary hypertension was presented in severe form of SLE cases and absent in mild form Conclusion: There was a significant correlation observed between severity of the SLE disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension | ||
