Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are 
the leading cause of death worldwide. 
Psychological disturbances have a 
direct physiological effect on the 
course of cardiac disease and their 
adverse effect may be mediated by 
non- compliance to lifestyle 
interventions, treatment and 
medication.
