| Abstract | ||
| The research aimed to: study each of the most important fish-producing governorates in Egypt in 2020, and the development of both (production from fish farming and fish production from capture fisheries during the period (2000-2020), and study indicators of fish consumption in the Arab Republic of Egypt during the period ( 2000-2020), and estimating the factors affecting both fish production and consumption, in addition to forecasting both production, consumption and self-sufficiency of fish during the period (2021-2030). The results showed that private farms ranked first in fish production from aquaculture during the period. (2000-2020) with an average of about 747.6 thousand tons, representing about 82.9% of the average total production from fish farming in Egypt during the study period, followed by production from floating cages with an average of about 129.1 thousand tons, representing 12.9% of the total production from fish farming, then Production from rice fields averaged about 19.9 thousand tons, representing 2.8% of the total production from fish farming, then production from government farms averaged about 10.6 thousand tons, representing 1.6% of the total production from fish farming, then intensive farming, with an average amounting to about 2.0 thousand tons. By 0.2% of the total production from fish farming. It also became clear that the average fish production from various fisheries in the Arab Republic of Egypt during the period (2000-2020) amounted to 378.9 thousand tons. The lakes ranked first in fish production with an average of about 177.24 thousand tons, which represents About 46.6% of the average total production from capture fisheries, followed by marine fisheries with an average of about 116.2 thousand tons, representing 30.7% of the total production from various capture fisheries, then freshwater production with an average of about 86.9 thousand tons, representing 22.7% of the total production from fisheries. The average import of fish amounted to about 358 thousand tons, the average export of fish amounted to about 14.9 thousand tons, the average available for fish consumption amounted to about 1531.9 thousand tons, the average domestic consumption of fish amounted to 18.66 thousand tons, and the average self-sufficiency rate reached, and according to the most important study Factors collectively affecting fish production in Egypt. It turns out that the most important of these factors collectively influencing fish production in the Arab Republic of Egypt are the number of mechanized fishing boats per unit (x1), the number of fishermen (x2), and the quantity of fish consumed (x3), as the increase of each factor Of these individually by one unit, this leads to an increase in fish production by 2.118, 0.254, 3.048 thousand tons. | ||
