| Abstract | ||
| Upholstery fabrics differ in their nature in terms of design and production from other types of fabrics, because they require the availability of design space, repetition of decorative units, and the colors used that are appropriate for the purpose of final use, when used for upholstery purposes such as (covering seats - beds), which increases the value and the elegance of the piece of furniture produced. In this research, one of the textile designs that is suitable for use as upholstery fabric was implemented using wefts of polyester chenille with contrasting colors due to its terry texture and adding generosity and aesthetic value to the fabric produced. Using the regular pattern method with four colors of weft in an arrangement (1 weft of chenille, first color: 1 weft of chenille, second color: 2 wefts of polyester of the same color) to achieve color contrast between the decorative units within the executed textile design. On a jacquard weaving machine. From the statistical analysis of the questionnaire results, it was found that the material of the wefts and the number of colors used in the design greatly affect the clarity of the decorative units within the textile design, and the diversity of the textile structures used for each color area within the textile design gives clarity to the decorative units. | ||
