| Abstract The study aimed to examine the challenges faced by principals and teachers in Saudi Arabian primary education institutions in implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Through qualitative and quantitative methods, the research explored the barriers hindering the integration of UNCRC principles within Saudi Arabia's primary education system. The study population included principals, teachers, and primary education children aged nine to 11 in Riyadh. Semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and questionnaires were used to collect data, allowing for diverse perspectives on children's rights implementation. Results indicated that societal awareness, cultural perceptions, and inadequate resources were significant barriers to UNCRC implementation. The findings emphasized the need for cultural shifts, enhanced training for educators, and policy reforms to bridge the gap between cultural norms and international standards of children's rights. The study underscored the importance of comprehensive strategies to address these challenges and promote the effective implementation of the UNCRC in Saudi Arabia's primary education system. Keywords: Perspectives, Barriers, UNCRC. المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى استقصاء التحديات التي يواجهها مديرو المدارس والمعلمون في مؤسسات التعليم الابتدائي بالمملكة العربية السعودية في تنفيذ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الطفل من خلال استكشاف العوائق والعقبات التي تحول دون دمج مبادئ اتفاقية حقوق الطفل في نظام التعليم الابتدائي في المملكة العربية السعودية، ولقد شمل مجتمع الدراسة مديري المدارس والمعلمين وأطفال التعليم الابتدائي الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 9 إلى 11 سنة في مدينة الرياض، كما تم استخدام المقابلات شبه المقيدة، ومجموعات التركيز، والاستبيانات لجمع البيانات، بما يسمح بالوصول للعديد من وجهات النظر المتنوعة حول تنفيذ حقوق الطفل، ولقد أشارت نتائج البحث إلى أن الوعي المجتمعي والتصورات الثقافية وعدم كفاية الموارد كانت بمثابة عوائق كبيرة أمام تنفيذ اتفاقية حقوق الطفل، وشددت النتائج على الحاجة إلى التحولات الثقافية، وتعزيز تدريب المعلمين، وإصلاحات السياسات لسد الفجوة بين المعايير الثقافية والمعايير الدولية لحقوق الطفل، وأكدت الدراسة على أهمية الاستراتيجيات الشاملة لمواجهة هذه التحديات وتعزيز التنفيذ الفعال لاتفاقية حقوق الطفل في نظام التعليم الابتدائي في المملكة العربية السعودية. الكلمات المفتاحية: تصورات، عوائق، اتفاقية حقوق الطفل. | ||
