Abstract
Background: In Egypt, the National Hypertension Project (NHP) found an adjusted overall prevalence of CAD is 8.3%. This study aimed to determine demographic, clinical, and angiographic profile among patients scheduled for coronary intervention in Benha Insurance Hospital, Benha Teaching Hospital & Benha University Hospital. Methods: This observational cross-sectional study included 500 patients who were subjected to coronary angiography with or without coronary intervention. All studied cases were subjected to clinical examination, routine laboratory investigations [CBC, Renal function tests, International normalized ratio (INR), Total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C, Triglycerides, Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), FT3 and FT4.], radiological investigations (ECG and Echocardiography) & coronary angiography. Results: The EF demonstrated a slightly lower mean value in males compared to females (P = 0.021), while substantial differences were observed in the prevalence of segmental wall motion abnormalities (SWMA).
