| Abstract | ||
| The type of raw materials used in the production of fabrics and their properties play a major role in controlling the type and quality of the product according to the properties of the required functional performance for the functional requirements that meet the customer's requirements. The industrial community is now turning its attention to the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable raw materials, which means the raw materials used in production processes in a way that preserves the environment and society and reduces the negative impact, in addition to achieving a balance between the current human needs and the needs of future generations to ensure the sustainability of raw materials. Accordingly, this research aims to use some modern raw materials with natural and mechanical properties that make them superior to their counterparts from conventional plant fibers to manufacture outdoor curtain fabrics for resistance and protection from ultraviolet rays and compare them with their counterparts produced from synthetic fibers. The research relied on the production of five woven samples using the double-weave method with an Atlas 4 structural composition and using five different textile materials for wefts (cotton, bamboo, tencel, micromodal, and polyester). The mechanical, performance, and ultraviolet resistance properties of the produced samples were evaluated to determine their efficiency in terms of their functional performance. | ||
