| Abstract | ||
| Revealing geomorphologic and geologic features in the West of Bitter Lakes area is crucial due to its location within the Suez Canal Province, which is one of Egypt's key developing regions. Although previous studies have employed individual techniques to identify geologic and geomorphological evidences of neotectonics, such as landforms that provide insights into these tectonic activities, it remains unclear and need more detailed studies. This study aims to clarify geomorphologic and geologic features, associated with such tectonic activities, using the Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with 30m resolution provided by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), high-resolution Google Earth imaging, Landsat-8 image, and detailed field investigation. The findings reveal probable geomorphological and geological criteria which point to neotectonics activities which require more detailed studies by remote sensing, seismicity supported with field investigation. It is recommended for decision makers to put into consideration the different geomorphic and geologic aspects during futuristic development planning. | ||
