| This study investigates the eco-friendly and sustainable production of microbial amylase using Streptomyces samsonii cultured in various agro-industrial wastewaters. Amylase production was optimized by a full-factorial design to analyze the effects of pH, temperature, agitation speed, and incubation time. This research determined that enzyme production is markedly affected by these variables, with optimal conditions established at pH 8, 37°C, 120 rpm, and a 5-day incubation time. Streptomyces samsonii shown significant amylase activity, especially in oil-rich wastewater, demonstrating the potential for cost-effective enzyme production. Moreover, adjusting the carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio using waste substrates revealed efficacy, with the maximum enzyme yields observed in media with a 50:1 C/N ratio. This research highlights the practical utilization of agro-industrial waste in microbial amylase production, presenting a sustainable method for waste management. The production of amylase after 5 days was investigated in various growth media, including oil-rich wastewater (ORW) with specific modified media formulations of C/N ratios (20:1, 35:1, 50:1), and compared to a basal medium. Streptomyces sampsonii demonstrated significant amylase activity in both basal medium and modified media, with the C/N ratio of 50:1 resulting in activities of 0.602 and 0.577 IU/mL, respectively, and a marked decline in activity in 50% ORW, measuring 0.033 IU/mL. | ||
