| Abstract | ||
| Transformer failures lead to high costs due to service interruption and required maintenance, replacement, or repair of the transformer. Among the reasons for the transformer failures is the existence of voids in the transformer oil. In this paper, modeling a three-phase distribution transformer is simulated using electrostatic interphase in the COMSOL Multiphysics software. Accordingly, distortion of electric field distributions due to the existence of air and water voids is investigated. The impact of locations and diameters of these voids on the electric field distribution is estimated. Four allocations of the existing voids between the high voltage primary winding and the transformer tank are implemented in the simulated system. More location of the air void between the high voltage and low voltage windings. Finally, the transformer sample is simulated using the transient acoustic pressure physics interface of the COMSOL Multiphysics software. Then the performance of acoustic pressure sensors is estimated using different partial discharge sources and locations. | ||
