| Abstract | ||
| Background Treating acne scars is often difficult. Microneedling therapy, also known as percutaneous collagen induction, has recently been introduced as a treatment option for such scars and has proven to be both simple and effective for managing atrophic acne scars. Objective This study aims to assess the clinical outcomes in acne scars following microneedling therapy. Methods Ten patients with various types of atrophic acne scars underwent three months of microneedling treatment (three sessions at 1 month intervals). Patients were photographed, at the start of treatment, as well as three months later. Results When compared to baseline measurements, the clinical evaluation of patients showed marked improvement in atrophic acne scars following microneedling. Conclusions Multiple sessions of minimally invasive microneedling are an effective approach to treating post-acne atrophic scars, as it stimulates the skin's healing processes. This treatment offers the added benefit of being a relatively safe, in-office procedure with minimal recovery time for patients. | ||
