| Abstract | ||
| الملخص: كانت للهدايا دورٌ مهمٌ في العصر البطلمي، إذ يُعد تقديمها حدثًا عامًا عظيمًا، سواء في مرحلة القوة أو الضعف، وكانت تستخدم بشكل ملحوظ في الدعاية السياسية، وذلك من خلال المواكب الملكية، كما ارتبط تقديمها للملوك والملكات بعدد من المناسبات مثل: إقامة العلاقات الدبلوماسية، والاحتفالات الملكية مثل: أعياد ميلاد الملوك، وأعياد التتويج، والمساهمة في شراء التاج الملكي من المعادن الثمينة، فضلا عن الاحتفالات الدينية، كذلك مع حالات إخضاع المدن خارج مصر للحكم البطلمي، أيضًا الرغبة في الحصول على الامتيازات الشخصية من جانب كبار المسئولين من خارج مصر، كما كان هناك تنوع في الدلالات التي ترتبت على تقديم الهدايا منها: الدلالات السياسية، ودلالات الصداقة والود، ودلالات السيادة والنفوذ للملوك البطالمة، وأخيرا دلالات تحمل طابع التحالفات العسكرية مع البطالمة. أما طبيعية تلك الهدايا التي جرى تقديمها كانت من المعادن الثمينة كالتيجان والأكاليل من الذهب أو الحيوانات مثل: الخنازير أو الفيلة من الهند والنوبة، أومن الطعام والشراب كالنبيذ أو الزيت، أو الطيور كالأوز أو الثياب الفاخرة، أو التماثيل البرونزية، أو الأباريق والجرات والأواني، أو اللوحات الفنية، وحتى المكتبات و الولايات من الرومان، بينما في بعض الحالات كانت الهدايا نادرًا ما يتم ذكرها؛ لأنها كانت مألوفة. Abstract: During the Ptolemaic era, gifts played an important role as their presentation was a significant public event, both in times of power and weakness. Notably, gifts were utilized for political propaganda, often featured during royal processions. The act of presenting gifts to the Ptolemaic kings and queens was linked to various occasions, including the establishment of diplomatic relations, royal celebrations including the kings' birthdays, coronations, contributions towards purchasing royal crowns made of precious metals, as well as royal visits to Egyptian regions. They were also offered during religious festivals, in addition to instances of subjugating cities outside Egypt under Ptolemaic rule and were sometimes used to secure personal privileges for high-ranking officials outside Egypt. The gifts carried several meanings, including political symbolism, expressions of friendship and goodwill, markers of the Ptolemaic kings' dominance and authority, and, finally, indications of military alliances with the Ptolemies. The gifts presented were diverse and included precious metals such as crowns and wreaths made of gold, animals like pigs or elephants from India and Nubia, food and drink such as wine or oil, birds like geese, luxurious garments, bronze statues, pitchers, jars, and vessels, paintings, and even libraries and provinces from the Romans. In some instances, gifts were rarely mentioned, as they were seen as commonplace. | ||
