| Objectives: This study aims to assess the reliability and validity of the Arabic linguistic adaptation of the Hallym Post-Micturition Dribble Questionnaire (HPMDQ), and the correlation between HPMDQ scoring and the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS). Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was undertaken on 200 men aged ≥18 years who attended the urology clinic, between January 2023 and March 2023. For every patient, the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) was applied to assess Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS), while the HPMDQ was used to evaluate Post-Micturition Dribble (PMD). The internal consistency of the Arabic questionnaire's reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha for each domain. Results: Of two hundred male patients in this study, 118 patients (59%) had PMD, while 82 (41%) had no PMD. In terms of the presence of urological disease and the total IPSS score, there were statistically significant differences between the two groups. Cronbach's alpha for the HPMDQ was 0.889, with a mean inter-item correlation of 0.616 and an intraclass correlation value of 0.889. The Arabic HPMDQ has a high level of reliability. The kappa coefficients for the Arab HPMDQ test-retest item scores (HPMDQ1, HPMDQ2, HPMDQ3, and HPMDQ4) were 0.842, 0.728, 0.878, and 0.838, respectively. There was a positive correlation between HPMDQ1, Q3, and Q4 and the total HPMDQ score with IPSS items and total IPS scores. Conclusion: The Arabic version of the Hallym Post-Micturition Dribble Questionnaire (HPMDQ) is a reliable and valid questionnaire that can be used for post-micturition dribbling assessment in clinical practice among Egyptian men. | ||
