| Abstract | ||
| کانت جزيرة ميلوس إحدى جزر الکيکلاديس التي حرص الفينيقيون ثم الاسبرطيون على استيطانها منذ العصور المبکرة، فقد خصتها الطبيعة بأرض برکانية غنية، وبموقع استراتيجي في جنوب غرب حوض بحر إيجة، مما جعلها محطة اقتصادية صناعية وتجارية مهمة في منطقة شرق البحر المتوسط. وفي الواقع فإن المواجهة العسکرية في أوائل القرن الخامس ق.م بين القوات الفارسية واليونانية فيما تعرف بالحروب الميدية، کانت بداية لسيطرة أثينية على الجزيرة؛ وکان السبب في ذلک هو القوات التي قدمتها ميلوس لمساندة الاسبرطيين في هذه الحروب، وهو أمر لنا أن نتصور أنه نبه الأثينيين إلى الخطر الذي يمکن أن تتعرض له امبراطوريتهم إذا تکررت مثل هذه المساندة في أحداث الحروب البلوبونيزية التي اشتعلت في النصف الثاني من القرن الخامس ق.م، خاصة وأن أثينا استطاعت خلال هذا القرن أن تکون مرکزّا لقاعدة تجارية وصناعية واسعة مجال خطوطها التجارية بحر إيجة والشواطئ المطلة عليه. ومن ثم کانت االسيطرة الأثينية على ميلوس إلى جانب صفتها العسکرية صفة اقتصادية بشکل أو بآخر. Island of Melos was one of the Cycladic islands that the Phoenicians and the Spartans sought to colonize since early ages, Its nature has a rich volcanic source and strategic location in the southern Aegean basin, Making it an important industrial and commercial economic station in the eastern Mediterranean region. In fact, the military confrontation in the early fifth century B.C. between the Persian and Greek forces in the so-called Median wars was the beginning of Athenian of Athenian control of the island, The reason for this was the troops that Melos had provided to support the Spartans in these wars, It is to us to imagine that it warned the Athenians of the danger to which the boundaries of their empire could be exposed if such support was repeated in the events of the Peloponnesian wars that erupted in the second half of the fifth century B.C., Especially that the Athens was able during this century to be the center of industrial commercial base and wide range of commercial lines in the Aegean and the beaches overlooking it. Thus, the Athenian control of Melos, was an economic characteristic in one form or another. | ||
