| Abstract | ||
| The agricultural sector occupies a major position among the sectors of the national economy, but the Egyptian agricultural sector suffers from a decline in the self-sufficiency ratio of many agricultural crops, the most important of which are legumes, especially bean and lentil crops. The problem is that the quantities produced from faba bean and lentil crops are not sufficient to meet the needs of domestic consumption. The research aims to study and analyze some economic and productive indicators of faba bean and lentil crops with emphasis on studying the relative importance of cost items and the most important measures Profitability, as well as studying the functions of production costs.The results showed that the increase in the average labor wages during the period (2010 - 2017) led to an increase in the cost of faba bean crops by about 33.4%. The increase in rent has led to an increase in the feddan cost of about 45.4% .As for the lentil crop, it was found that the increase in the average labor wages during the period (2010 - 2017) led to an increase in the feddan costs of the lentil crop by about 28.1%. The increase in rent has led to an increase in the feddan costs of the crop by about 58.5%. The results showed that the yield of faba bean crop, which has low costs in the long run, was about 8.22 thousand feddans. The feddan yield maximizes about 9.1 ardab.The results showed that the yield per feddan of lentils, which has low costs in the long run, reached about 5.0 thousand feddans. And that the feddan productivity that maximizes profit reached about 4.28 ardeb. | ||
