| Abstract | ||
| The study determined the realationship between nutritional status of infants and the nutrition and knowledge of their mothers and other family variables. Data were collected by interview of 234 rural lactating mothers with their infant . the results indicated that : 43.6 % of infants underweight , 48.7 % underheight 36 % of them stunted but no one suffering from wasting . Only 15.4 % of their mothers their knowledge level was high about lactating nutrition . 92.3 % of their mothers did not intake recommended daily food. There was a significant positive realationship between infant weight and mother's intake food daily , mother's weekly intake al: liver, raw vegetables, chickens, milk, cooked vegetables, raw fruits .There was a significant positive realationship between infant height and mother's daily food intake, mother's daily water intake, mother's weekly intake from each: liver, chickens, fish, eggs, raw vegetables, cooked vegetables .There was a significant positive realationship between infant weight and mother age, mother education level and between infant height and mother knowledge level, mother age, mother education and father education . | ||
