| Abstract | ||
| The research analyzes the competitiveness of the Egyptian exports of oranges in the Saudi market during (2001-2019); the research problem is the decrease in the Egyptian exports quantity of oranges in this market every year even though the high rates of consumption, and its reliance on insufficient local imports to cover the local consumption requirements. The research relied on descriptive and quantitative analysis methods. It reached some results, including the quantity of Egyptian orange exporting and its price that achieved a growth rate of 20.7% and 59%. Egypt obtained the highest market share at the competing countries level, estimated at 29.65%, in the Saudi Arabia market, Egypt ranked sixth with an annual average of 0.018% which indicates the low efficiency of export institutions. Egypt ranked fifth with an annual average of about 3.44%, and according to the relative price of Egypt and its competitors, it was found that Egypt did not achieve an advantage in exporting Egyptian oranges to the Saudi- market with South Africa, Turkey, Australia, Spain, and Morocco, while Egypt outperformed Lebanon. The results showed that Egypt has stability in the quantity of the exporting oranges to this market where the annual instability coefficient average reached 31.59% during the same period, supporting the competitiveness determinants and raising the export agencies performance efficiency concerned with the Egyptian orange while activating the agencies' role concerned with exporting and highlighting its distinction aspects from other competing products. | ||
