| Abstract | ||
| This study has two aims: examining the relationship between secondary students’ EFL creative writing and their critical thinking and determining whether secondary students’ EFL creative writing skills predict their critical thinking. The participants were 33 first year secondary school students at El-ShomoutEl-MoshtarakaSecondary School, Benha, Qalioubiya Governorate, Egypt during the first term of the school year 2020/2021. An EFL creative short story writing skills test and a critical thinking skills test were used for collecting data. To find out whether or not there was a significant correlation between their EFL creative writing and their critical thinking, Pearson correlation coefficient was used. The multi-regression analysis model was applied to find out if creative writing skills can predict critical thinking skills. Pearson correlation coefficient between the scores of the study participants in the critical thinking test and their scores in the EFL creative writing test showed the existence of positive significant correlation between the two variables. It was also found that secondary students’ EFL creative writing can be a significant predictor of their critical thinking. العلاقة بين الکتابة الإبداعية في اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية والتفکير الناقد لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية الملخص: هدفت الدراسة الحالية الکشف عن العلاقة بين الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية والتفکيرالناقد لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية وتحديد إلى أي مدى تتنبأ الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية بالتفکير الناقد لديهم. تکونت عينة الدراسة من ثلاثة وثلاثين طالباً وطالبة تم اختيارهم من طلاب مدرسة الشموت الثانوية المشترکة، محافظة القليوبية بجمهورية مصر العربية خلال الفصل الدراسي الأول عام 2020 م/2021 م. استخدمت الدراسة اختبار مهارات الکتابة الإبداعية للقصة القصيرة فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية واختبار مهارات التفکير الناقد لجمع البيانات والإجابة على تساؤلات البحث. تم استخدام معامل إرتباط بيرسون للکشف عن وجود علاقة إرتباط دالة بين الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية لدى طلاب الثانوي والتفکيرالناقد لديهم. کما تم تطبيق نموذج تحليل معامل الانحدار المتعدد لدراسة تأثير مهارات الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية على التفکير الناقد للتنبؤ بدرجة العلاقة بينهم. وأظهر معامل إرتباط بيرسون بين درجات الطلاب المشارکين فى الدراسة اختبار التفکير الناقد وبين درجاتهم في اختبار الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية وجود علاقة دالة موجبة بين الکتابة الإبداعية فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية والتفکير الناقد لديهم. کما وجدت الدراسة أنه من الممکن التنبؤ بالتفکير الناقد من خلال الکتابة الإبداعية. الکلمات المفتاحية: الکتابة الإبداعية للقصة القصيرة فى اللغة الإنجليزية کلغة أجنبية | ||
